There is a strange paradox that exists when you mention the word “family.” There seems to be a lot of baggage associated with this word. What do we mean by it? Family can often be the source of our greatest joys. But it also can be the source of our greatest pain. Every family seems to believe that theirs is the only dysfunctional one. Yet if we really knew each other, we would find that there is no such thing as “the perfect family.” We all have our issues.
We here at Sturgeon Alliance Church definitely don’t have perfect families either. And even though we are located in a town called Gibbons (AB) which has as its motto “Rooted in Family” we don’t have it all figured out. But, we are going to begin a journey to discover God’s dream for our family. And we want to invite you to the journey as well!
For six consecutive Wednesday evenings starting Jan.30/2019 we are going to gather at our church building for a time of listening, discussing, evaluating, eating, laughing and hopefully growing around the theme of “Family.” We are calling it “The Family Project” and we would love for you to join us on this 6-week journey.
